# Goo Forward > Start something without a plan, slime-mold style. Type a vague aim, list your means in three groups - who you are, what you know, whom you know - and say how many hours and how much money you can afford to lose. The page numbers your means, draws them in a petri dish and gives its own verdict; one metered run grows small first moves built only from those means, under your caps. URL: https://goo-forward.skillsafe.ai/ API: https://goo-forward.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## What it does - Free, in the browser: numbers your means (up to six per group), draws the petri dish (SVG and PNG downloads), and works out the verdict by a fixed rule. - Verdict rule, in order: declined (harm, anything illegal, health treatment, gambling, investing or trading, crypto, borrowing or lending, other people's money); reshape (the aim names quitting a job, selling or remortgaging a home, moving to another country, or an amount above a cap); probe (fewer than 3 means, or no people); spread (otherwise). - Metered task `grow` (gpt-terra): 3 or 4 moves for spread, 2 for probe or reshape. Each move is built from listed means, takes at least 1 hour, and all moves together stay under the hour and money caps. A spread asks at least two different people from the list for a small commitment. One move is picked to grow first: most means used, then fewer hours, then less money, then earlier. 1 or 2 big plan-first steps are set aside with a reason. - The page re-checks every reply: means that exist, people from the list, totals under the caps, the move to grow first, word limits. - Each ask has a Copy the ask button (whom, what, which move). Grow again after an edit and the page says which moves are new, dropped or kept, and how the hours and money moved. Lines it shortens or leaves out are named on screen. ## Why a slime mold A slime mold has no brain and no map. It spreads out from what it touches, thickens the veins that find food and pulls back from the rest. The thinking pattern behind the app is effectuation: under real uncertainty, start from your means, cap the downside at what you can afford to lose, ask people you already know for commitments, and let the goal take shape. ## Sources - SkillSafe skill: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@tjboudreaux/thinking-effectuation ## Limits A thinking toy - not professional, business or financial advice. Only risk what you can truly afford to lose. Nothing is stored unless you press save.
